Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th in 1961) was an American actor. Known for her work in TV and film in the 1980s, she's won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was brought up in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt after being born at New York New York, is well-known as an actress. Her mother split with her father when she was approximately five. Her younger sister moved from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett saw James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play as she was still in high school, and realised that she was an actor and was looking to pursue. The year was 1980 and Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with the degree of African American studies. She was also awarded a degree by the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. was married Courtney B. Vance who was a fellow actor. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's in African American studies, in 1980.
